Would you consider hiring someone to scrapbook your memories?
Cathy H asked:
What I mean by this is that I’m considering starting a business where I scrapbook for other people. What I want to know is if this is really something others would pay for? I read about it online, and I just want to test to see if it’s worth it. I love to scrapbook so I figure why not get paid to do what I love?

They probably would. You would just have to go through every detail with them and then get to work! Heck if you love doing it why not! I am not a big fan, I’d pay you to do it. Haha.

We’ll it is something you love to do so why not give it a try. I know I am way to busy to put together a scrap book and if the price is reasonable I would probably consider it. Also some people are not creative so yes I would give it a try for a couple of months, if business is not good than just go back to doing it for a hobby, but don’t do anything drastic like quit your job before you know the turn out, but whatever happens good luck.

Yes, I had to do a scrapbook of my life for a senior project. And I hated it! I am just not good with organizing photos and making cute layouts that the crazy scrappers can do! haha (yeah, i know I’m a guy…but still, I know a lot of girls in my class that had the same trouble!). So yes, I think that would be a great business! It takes a lot of creativity and time! If that’s something you are in to, I think that people would definitely pay for it! Especially since scrapbooks are great gifts! I ended up giving mine to my mom and she loved it!

I think people are cutting back on non-essential expenses lately, so I wouldn’t count on this being your big money winner right now. That said, I think it’s a great idea for people who don’t have the time or talent to do this themselves. If you have some scrapbooks of your own that you can use as samples to show your talent, that would be great. Just research pricing online so you know what to charge, then work with people’s budgets and be flexible when needed.
Good luck with your venture!

I think it would be a little difficult to start. Personally, I would want to be the one who put all that time and effort into my family’s scrapbooks. It would be more rewarding and meaningful to myself.
You could start by taking pictures of all the types of decorated pages you can do and work with them with what pictures to use, orientation, hue, scale, etc.
I think it would be a good idea, people are very lazy and I know a lot of families that just throw all those pictures into boxes. It’s hard to take time to organize all them.
Start with family, friends, co-workers and expand your networking. Good luck.

I agree with “Chit” I think it is a good idea, but scrapbooking is a really expensive hobby and to do it for another person you may not be able to show them all of the cost, because sometimes you have to buy a whole pack of somethings to get the one you wanted.

Yes. not only for other people, but businesses and restaurants might pay you to do scrapbooks, wedding planners, event planners, there are lots of ways to make money with your talent.
If you want to start small, you may want to advertise as an organizer who will work with a person to get their photos in order, and go from there. Many people are overwhelmed with their photos.
