Alison F asked:

Hi i am a university student and we have to keep a running journal/scrapbook/research file on anything we find interesting and how we came up with ideas for assignment briefs. i want mine to look professional, so that if i go to a job interview they can see my research. i dont want to use a plain a4 binder and i dont want to do the obvious college/highschool thing of writing everything about what i did with a stuck in picture underneath it. Is their a way i can do it, or is their any links/books of ideas that people have done this?

Hemp Paper is Eco Friendly (and Guilt Free)

Saturday, May 16th, 2009

EcoArtWorks sells all sorts of eco-friendly art supplies, including soy crayons and my favorite, hemp paper products. Hemp grows faster and uses less space than trees, and the paper quality if fantastic. NO PCPs…can’t smoke it. But it’s highly recommended.

Oh, and I’m not getting a commission from them for this post!!

Hammered Flower and Leaf Prints

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009

I love this idea. For those of use with limited drawing ability, this is a cool way to make pretty botanical cards. This comes from Build/Make/Craft/Bake. By hammerting flowers and leaves against your art paper, you can make delightful designs. This would be great in the fall if you can catch the leaves after they turn but before they completely dry out. It’s also the craftiest way to get out any frustrations.
